I am moving this blog.
New name and new address is perfectly Knotted @  http://perfectlyknotted.blogspot.com/
My focus no longer is painted items, I am branching out with more about crochet, sewing, cooking, and of coarse always painting.  My blog will hopefully become more useful to folks who read it and more fun (for me and you).  It also is meant to coordinate with my Etsy shop perfectlyKnotted.  Come on over and by all means bookmark the change.  See you soon at "perfectly Knotted"

Such fun making "stuff" for the grand daughters, this is a dress for JuJu and I made a similar version as a shirt for Ally. You girls are such fun. Need to get working on some new crochet items and increase the shop inventory.  I really think I want to add some adult items. I'm thinking maybe cowls and head bands.   This is going to require some serious thinking.  Or maybe not, I should just add them and see what happens.  What do you guys think?   Right now gotta go enjoy the summer sun and heat. Enjoy your weekend.  God keep you safe.

My domesticity continues. I have been sewing some baby blankets, crocheting edges on other blankets and now I am dabbling in baking. My new fav is cupcakes, this flavor being Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Yummy to be sure. Chris loved it, the folks at work liked them and I am amazed with the aroma.....again yummy.

Projects I've been up to...

It was Julianna's birthday....had to buy toys but so wanted to make her something as well.  Well this is it.  I really love it and she sure looked cute in it.  Wear it well sweet girl.
Blanket auction at church seemed like just the time to try out these two new projects.  Raggedy quilt so cute with the owls and flannel and this fleece blanket with crochet edge.  Both projects I have been waiting to try and a good cause to boot.  Hope everyone else is as pleased with them as I am.

Meet Parker

My newest grandchild.....meet Parker David.  Weighing in at 9lbs 4 oz he is just to cuddly for words.  Sure is the apple of his grandpa's eye.  This makes 4 grandchildren, 2 boys and 2 girls.  We are truly blessed.  This has made for a very busy week and also a most joyous one.  Better get busy with a boy design for my crocheted hats.

Speaking of crochet and scrapping and painting and sewing....I've been thinking this blog needs a new name.  I am not sure what blogger does in terms of name changes but I really need to look into that.  Sue Paints no longer fits my personality....guess my attention span is just to short for only one craft.

Christmas is coming.....

December update.  I have my shopping 1/2 done and my projects partially completed and now I am on the couch nursing a surgerized foot....I know it's not a word, but it described my predicament....I need a plan to complete my  Christmas agenda.  I ordered family picture Christmas cards last night and should be able to pick them up tomorrow on the way to Dr.'s office....check.  I have ideas in writing for most of the rest of my gift list....check.   As soon as I can get out I will complete the shopping.  Getting a "roll a bout" tomorrow so navigating my house will be easier....check.  Mix some cookie dough with husband as soon as he gets home from hunting, bake them....with help.  Finish some crochet projects....waiting for instructions on that....finish those mittens for my girls....waiting on roll a bout....I have a plan, just needs a little time to implement.....

In the mean time here are 3 of THE most beautiful grandchildren in the world.....in case you don't get my Christmas card.....

A visit to Warren and Weekend Wrap up

Where to begin. My weekend started with an unexpected extra day off. Wow was I glad to have that day. Cooking and cleaning for friends, a night of cards and un, all a welcome relief from a hectic life. Saturday brought the Valley Lutheran Bazaar. Quite successful for me. I sold some painted glassware and 7 hats. The hat sale profits go to the Adoption fund for my daughter Amanda. A nice contribution delivered today. We traveled down and spent the day with Amanda and Rick, delivered the $ and enjoyed some family time. Dinner and a movie was a lot of fun. So I end my week physically exhausted but mentally replenished with family and friends. OK Monday let 'er rip, I'm ready for you.....what'cha got?

Halloween Chocolate

I can't resist....Halloween Chocolate....I started out buying only a little and giving it all out to Trick or Treaters but then alas I succombed to the clearance aisle at Walmart last night. I did it...I purchased more...now it haunts me....I can't stand it but I can't resist it. Chocolate the most wonderful food of all. Why oh why is it not it's own food group? But in my world it is. Chocolate is the top of the food Pyramid in my world, the perfect food, the choicest of the choice, the best of the best, my own food of the God's. Enough of this, time to take action, time to end this madness. Tomorrow, off to work it goes, to those energetic student workers, off to work with Chris. Enough said....Good Night.

A New Life on the Blog

I am really going to try to start using this blog as my vent and my inspiration. At a time when I was sure my life would become less hectic and more calm and organized.......well not so much. Grandchildren, parents and work make me so crazy. I still seem to have no me time. I need to fix that. Positive outlooks is one of my new inspirations.....and they tell me to relax and enjoy the life I have. So this is my declaration of that....I love my life....I love the people in my life....I will make the most of the life I have.....

See you again....real soon I hope....gonna try this once a day blogging thing....hope tomorrow is more inspirational....less declarational....LOL

It's been a long time since I was here....

This adorable little granddaughter is now 1. She is growing literally like a weed. Life speeds by so fast, I can barely stand it. Her mom made this adorable little outfit for her and it is so very cute.

Not to be outdone, her brother is becoming quite the little man. He is all about his sister and his guitar. Spring and summer has great promise for lots of fun.

My life seems to find little time for sewing, painting and crafting. I miss these leading men of my life. Gardening haunts my thoughts but the weather has yet to cooperate. Somethings gotta change. I need to create, maybe today....will let you know later....will post pics if it happens....but first the long put off taxes....see you soon, I promise....

Something New

I tried something new and my Grand daughter Julianna is modeling it. I can crochet but not all that well...or so I thought. I found this pattern and made it in an evening. Pretty good for me. I can't even make a potholder in an evening. My sister Jeanne should be impressed by this as she is a speed crochet master. I however just enjoy the journey.

On another note, starting up the fall home crafting again. I need to get to it. Sure has been a fun summer. Lots of places to talk about and stories to share. I feel rejuvenated or should feel rejuvenated for fall. So for now it's more scrub hats and painting projects and maybe a few cutsie little girl hats for my dear Juju.

He’s a Senior

Being the parent of a high school senior is so much fun. This young man that has been the whole of your life is growing up and is on the brink of the world. You have done what you can and now he goes out to greet the world. You watch him making more and more decisions, doing more and more independently, being a real human and contributing to society. Those many questions of can he make it in the world and will he contribute start to be answered. You realize that in fact he is a man, he will make a difference, he can make it on his own. But for now we celebrate with him as he finishes an amazing baseball season, celebrates with friends and makes plans for the future. Christopher it has been an amazing ride, watching you grow from boy to man…

I wouldn’t have missed a minute of it… DSCN0639DSCN1005 DSCN1041 DSCN1193

Well I did have to post a picture of our girl…

DSCN0933 Ok so I couldn’t wait for another day to post this, just had to do it now.  Isn’t she precious….

Spring Break, New Granddaughter and floor cloths

Yes indeed it is spring break 2010.  Guys are playing baseball all week and I am painting up a storm in the basement.  Nothing like working to a deadline.  We have an Auction for New Orlean’s trip on Sunday and I am just now finishing up my stuff.  It always amazes me that I can sit here and stew about projects and think about them and procrastinate about them but when the deadline comes I can kick them out.  Deadlines seem to make the creative juices flow for me.  Good thing because I really do wait for the deadline.

On a non deadline item that grand daughter is just so precious.  Grandpa woke up this morning announcing that he must see her today.  I really can’t argue with him as I want to see her also.  No excuses needed we just have to see her.  So visit her we will.  Dr office for Chris, dinner and then baby time for grandpa and grandma.  Chris can make no sense of it but I am sure he will tag along.  Babies are just no yet cool to the 17 year old sports enthusiast, or maybe he is afraid for them to be cool just yet.  Anyway we are off to see her soon.  More pics to follow.

The Most Beautiful Girl in the World

Yes indeed my granddaughter is the most beautiful girl in the world.  Yes I am prejudice but come on seriously, don’t you think so?  Well just take a look and humor me for a little.  DSCN0906 DSCN0904

We love her.  She is our little most beautiful girl in the world!!!

Right in the Middle

I am right in the middle.  This week I am keenly aware of how in the middle I am.  In the middle between generations that is.  I went to lunch on Thursday with my mother and her sister and sister in law and brother in law.  Another words with my Aunts and Uncles.  They go to lunch every month.  I was shopping with my mother that day and got invited along.  They are all that is left from that generation in our family.  Mom is 82, Aunt Ruth is a little older.  Aunt Carol is not yet 80 as far as I know, she is the youngster of the group and Uncle Trez is 80.  Uncle Trez picks up the girls and takes them for lunch once a month.  They catch up with each other, update each other on family events and just hang out.  They are their peers and they are comfortable together.  This week I interloped but they were glad to have me and I was glad to be there.  I really should go again soon.  I have next months date since I was there when the next date was chosen.  Now for the middle part.  Today I am helping give a shower for my daughter in law.  We are having a baby here and it is so exciting.  Here I am the old one.  I am the Grandma and I love it.  I will be looked at as the old one, the wise one (I hope) the other generation.  I want to be included in the lives of those younger and I want to be thought of as important to them.  I can’t wait for this child to be here to touch and love and watch grow.  I guess as I look at my week past, I realize that I should make time for that older group, they won’t be here all that much longer for me to enjoy and I should realize that soon, oh to soon I will be them.  I want someone to go for lunch with me then too.  Have good day and hug someone on either side of your middle.

A Reunion Tomorrow

Grace is celebrating 50 years of being here.  Tommorow is a reunion of confirmation classes for the last 25 years.  I pulled out some pics of the kids when they were there and here are a few of them.  I sure had fun pulling them up on the computer   ice cream
