It has been a very productive day. Posted some things on Etsy, purses and an old palm on E-bay. Sold the PDA in about an hour. Not to bad but did not realize that I had listed as Free Shipping so not as profitable as I might have liked. Oh well it's gone and now I am not storing it. Also made a couple of purses from an old sweater and am now listing on Etsy also. Scoot on over and have a look. Hubby is gone hunting for the weekend so I am trying to get with the whole clean this place really good and put up Christmas decorations but so far just having fun with the sewing machine and posting to the internet. But that is more fun anyway. I also am cleaning out a now spare bedroom and planning to paint it. I bought a quilt about a year ago in the hopes of painting this room to go with it. Well seems that maybe purple and lilac are not really "in" colors and I am having a time of it. I am determined to make this work. Currently looking at greens for the walls. Well enough of this fun, I must return to work.

Snowmen drying

Well it's a Snowman Sunday. We are having a burst of mild weather but in my painting studio it's a"Snowman Wonder Land." I cleaned out flower beds and put away pots and patio stuff for the afternoon and then it was off to the winter land of my paint studio. There are snowmen everywhere, but they are fun and the pieces are coming together for the Bazaars I have coming up in 2 weeks. I feel so much better after a little time with paint. So now to get myself ready for another week of work. But this was a great day. Church, outdoors, and paint. Is there anymore to life.

Crafty Saturday

Spent the day painting and sewing. Doesn't get any better than that. Sewed a new little wristlet in brown and blue tones. Gave it to my Daughter-In-Law for her birthday. She was thrilled. I was very happy with how it turned out and just plain forgot to take a picture. Oh well next time maybe. I have another one cut out just not put together. I am finishing up a lot of Snowmen pics. A variety and they should be done tomorrow so I am promising to post pics then of the "flakey little devils". But first church and brunch with mom then back to snowmen. My guys are all gone hunting so it's just me and the dogs for the weekend. Think I'll go watch a movie or TV without anyone "just checking the score real quick" during the commercial. HA HA, well you gotta love 'em.
Ta Ta for now...

Just added Donna Downey's badge to my site. It is today's inspiration. Visit her site and enjoy. I always enjoy my visits to her world. We here are in a very stressfull week. My mother and my husbands father are both facing open heart surgery. So my mind is elsewhere but I promise to bring something to the blog table soon. I need the release and the calm that comes with something new flowing. Will be back soon. Going to create something in the world of chocolate now for tailgaiting tonight. High School football night, homecoming and all that comes with that whole festive time. Back soon...

New Month and New Header

Well this is the start of a new month or sort of. It is the start of a new blog header and hopefully a new blog style for me. I also want to be more consistent about using my blog and recording my life in the blog. Very busy time right now and many new things on the horizon for me in the creating world. Really getting up to speed on the whole purse thing. I also am painting quite a lot for the upcoming Christmas and winter season. Got a few of the trusty old snow man things going right now. Inspiration seems to come in fits and spurts but it comes and I am trying to go with it. Will post more pics soon but check out my Etsy for some new purses and the like real soon. Fall is in the air and am hot on the trail of bread baking. Really getting into the whole Artisan Bread in 5 Minutes a day or Less. It is just so yummy. Gotta love it. Pictured is the latest instalment for dinner tonight.

Summer flies by

I cannot believe how fast summer if flying by. The wedding is past and Labor Day is gone. We are just flying into Fall. My fascination with sewing is continuing. This is a past love and one that is recieving renewed interest with me now. In the past I usually made clothing items or household stuff like curtains and pillows. Now it's purses and tote bags. I love them and will post more pics soon. Just leaving this note to say I am not far away but having computer problems and they are not soon resolved. Be back soon. As always Sue

FUN NEW STUFF

I have listed the black and white pursefrom the last post on Etsy. So jump on over and take a look. I'm also showing off a little with pictures of my latest bag. This one is for the Basic Grey Magnetic Board used by scrapbookers. This board measures 15x15 inches and fits in most nothing out there. I was approached by a friend from the local scrapbook store, thanks Keri, to make it and after some trial and error (first photo, to small) we have a winner (second photo). The prototype is proudly for sale at ScrapBooks Galore and More. I am making more and this is exciting. I am actually selling them. Always love it when you can make a little cash doing what you love. So off to the store for more stuff to make more bags. I think I'll list the smaller bag on Etsy. You could easily use it to carry albums or paper or stuff.

It's been a busy time here. Taught Vacation Bible School last week. That was like having another job. Boy do I give credit to teachers. But those little faces and the learning about Jesus our Forever Friend was great. Anthony my soon to be Grandson loved it as well. We even had our picture in the VBS Gazette or whatever they called it. Weather has been warmer here and all the rain make those weeds just grow and grow so lots of yard work as well.
My son Chris leaves for Mackinaw Island this week for the Michigan Youth Convention for Lutherans. He will have such a great time. It is amazing the empowerment you get when in the company of so many who believe the same things you do. I pray for them all.
Well we are off to the Tiger Ball game today so hope for sunshine. I really hate getting wet at the game, and we get to see the house my daughter is buying, I think. Should be a fun and busy afternoon. TTFN

What a Wonderful Summer Weekend

This has been a wonderful summer weekend, now it's back to work and back to the week. Had dinner with my kids yesterday and built a fire in the backyard. Finished up another purse sewing project and hope to get it posted somewhere real soon. I have been visiting Pink Lemonade Boutique a lot lately and enjoying the time spent there. You should take a peak http://pinklemonadeboutiquebags.blogspot.com/ I really don't know how to make the name turn into a link and just take you there but this is the link.

She is holing a contest giveaway and you really should visit and mention who took you to the website.

Just listed on Etsy

Here is my latest addition to Etsy. Just a fun thing and such fun to use. Take a look over there they have really cool stuff and it just makes you happy to look at it.

It's been quite some time since last I was here. So much has happened. Ben and Jessica had their wedding shower and that was so nice and such fun and they received such wonderful presents that it is just amazing. The weather is finally getting nice and we have flowers growing and I am having a great time planting and getting dirty.

This is my project for today. I got sent home from work early and got to work and made another purse. I really like this one also and really like polka dots this season. I think it looks like summer and that makes me happy. Take a look and let me know what you think.

This is my newest project. I am in love love love with it. This new fascination with purses is just the bomb and I am loving it.
On another note tomorrow starts my latest online art class. This one is Portraits with Paullette Insall. I can't wait.
Been doing a lot of cooking this afternoon. Just the whole domestic thing I guess. Potato soup and lemon pie. Yum Yum. Well gotta go exercise because that whole cooking thing will definitely take it's toll on my waist. TA TA for Now.

I know it's been a long time since my last post here. But you can see by my flickr page at the right that I have accomplished something. I did get caught up and posted my Organic Backgrounds homework. I am not that thrilled with the project but am thrilled with the process, I just need to lose the heavy hand. I tend to get a little to dramatic with the color contrasts and that tends to take over my project. I have another one in the works and will post when that is finished. Cooking for Easter and just hanging out with the boys here. Blessings on your Easter.

I am loving the class but am behind. Need to catch up because tomorrow the next lesson comes out and I wanna be ready. Have a great Sunday.

Check out my Slide Show!

These are the two newest scrapbook pages I have created. The first is the story of my son Ben and his engagement to Jessica. This is the first page of a wedding album I am making for her. The second is a page of a day at the beach with my son Chris and husband Gary. I learned to make some new flippy pages and they are so fun and make it so easy to add all those pictures you just can't bear to leave out of the layout. Thanks Debbie and Dana for the help. I really love it.

My newest fun thing is chip board albums. I just love them. I spent the evening making this one and I just can't leave it alone. I just want to touch it and look at it all the time. This one is my son and his sports loves. It is so fun to relive those exciting days and look forward to the new ones to come.

Saturday, February 23, 2008

Today I scrapped at an all day crop. It was just the greatest. I made a chip board album of my son's sports happenings and made a small little book out of junk an a bet, started another chip board album spelling family and did 2 pages for my scrap book. I learned how to cover the chip board albums with my own paper designs, previously I had painted them and the like but today I covered with paper and distressed them. I also learned to make some little flippy things for my pages thanks to my great friend Debbie. We chatted and ate to much and just had a great girl day. All in all a pretty wonderful way to spend Saturday. I will post pictures of my accomplishments tomorrow. Good Night for now and May God Bless.

A week of work in my spare time, a little amending of the pattern and some embroidery and here it is. My first attempt at sewing a scrapbook item. Or scrapping on my stuff. It's been rumbling around in my brain for a while and now I can carry it with me. I love having my family with me all the time and this purse is great. I love it.

My boss gave me a small logo from PeriAnesthesia Nurses week and said do something with it. So I did. I don't think this is what she meant but it is what it is. This is my voice. Have a purse idea rumbling around in my head. Gonna start that tonight.

Saturday

I am so new to this whole writing a blog thing and not very good at it. I am trying to keep learning and keep posting and learn something new every day. I also need to get past the whole "afraid of it" thing

The beginning, the start, the point from which all initiates. So it begins.
